Health checks

Just like us, pets benefit from regular check-ups to make sure that everything is working as it should, and to spot any potential issues as early as possible. Pets can be very good at hiding any pain or discomfort they may be experiencing and so an annual health check is a very good way of spotting any underlying problems, which often respond better to early treatment.

We recommend a monthly health check up until the age of six months, after which time an annual check is sufficient – usually at the time of your pet’s booster vaccination.

Routine health checks take place with one of our vets, who will examine your pet from nose to tail assessing your pet’s eyes, ears, teeth, skin, coat, paws and claws as well as listening to their heart and lungs and examining the abdomen for any unusual lumps or bumps. We will always involve you fully in discussions about any recommended next steps and answer any questions you may have clearly and honestly.
