Re: COVID-19…

UPDATE

Further to the measures outlined below we will now only be able to see emergency patients at the practice. All routine consultations and operations still on the diary will be postponed. This includes booster vaccinations, neutering procedures, flea and worm checks etc. Boosters can be given a few months late, so please rest assured that your pets will not be left unprotected.

We will still be here for you, reachable via the usual phone number and email. We will make use of telephone and video consultations to help those patients who do not need to come in to the practice, posting or delivering medications if needed. Currently we have no plans to change our usual opening hours.

Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns on 01227 264915 or reception@wbayvets.co.uk.  We will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.

Take care of yourselves and each other,

Adam and Vicky

Dear all,

We hope you and your loved ones are keeping well. As you know, the situation with coronavirus changes daily, and we have a responsibility to our staff, our clients and the wider community to reduce the risk of further spread as much as possible. With this in mind and following new advice from the British Veterinary Association we have decided to make some further changes to our ways of working so that we can keep everyone safe and keep the practice open for those patients who need us the most during this difficult time.

With immediate effect we will no longer be taking bookings for routine booster vaccinations, nail clips, flea and worm checks or routine neutering procedures. Some bookings that have been booked for this week may have to be cancelled. We will contact you and let you know if this is the case and are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

When you call to book your appointment we will ascertain whether it is essential for you and your pet to attend in person. We may be able to offer a telephone or video consultation (at a reduced price of £30) instead.

It is not possible to maintain recommended social distancing in the consultation room, so if you do need to come in to see us, we ask that you call when you arrive to let us know that you are here and one of the team will come and collect your pet from the car when the vet or nurse is ready. Your pet will be examined and we will then call you to agree a treatment plan. Your pet will be brought back to you in the car park, together with any medication for you to give at home. Payment will be taken over the phone. We regret that we can no longer accept cash payments.

For repeat medications we can now offer a home delivery service. If you would like to take advantage of this then please let us know when you make your order. It may take a few days for us to get the medication out to you so please make sure you have enough to last a week or so when placing your order. If you would rather drop by to pick medication up then please let us know when you are on your way so we can have it ready. In both cases payment will be taken over the phone.

We thank you very much in advance for your kind cooperation – we appreciate that these measures may prove inconvenient but the health of our team, our lovely clients and the community is of the utmost importance to us.

Sending you all best wishes,

Adam and Vicky
